Creating a legacy of monumental wildlife murals

Wildlife Walls is a grassroots public art & engagement project
Wildlife Walls is a grassroots public art project that began in 2022 to celebrate Utah’s wildlife through large-scale murals. Led by artist Chris Peterson in collaboration with dozens of partners, this wildlife appreciation project has turned blank walls across the state into monumental mural tributes to local species.
We've installed nine murals across six counties, well on our way to the goal of painting at least one in all 29 Utah counties.
These murals do more than brighten boring walls and revitalize Main Streets; they tell stories about the wildlife that shapes Utah’s identity. Each piece highlights a local species, using art and a custom QR code to bring awareness to the local habitats and creature stories. From small town main streets to bustling urban parks, these murals turn ordinary places into eye-catching, powerful reminders that wild animals are part of our communities in the American West.
Our work is made possible through partnerships with municipalities, county and state agencies, businesses, nonprofits, private citizens, and local property owners.

Benefits of sponsorship include an ad listing in the mural trail google map, travel planning guide, and promotion on the social media pages of the Wildlife Walls Mural Trail. Also, being part of something built on our shared love of wildlife and the places we find them in Utah.
