TERMS OF USE — WILDLIFE WALLS

These terms govern the Wildlife Walls iOS app and related trail information we publish. The app is a public map of the official Wildlife Walls mural trail in Utah. The project partners with the Utah Wildlife Federation. Trail murals include work by artist Chris Peterson and community partners.
By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the App Store download.

1. LICENSE TO USE THE APP
We grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Wildlife Walls on Apple devices you own or control, for planning visits to the mural trail and related wildlife stops.
You may not copy, reverse engineer, scrape, or redistribute the app, our catalog, or our photos except as allowed by law or with our written permission. You may not use the app to build a competing data set of the trail.
The app is free. There are no in-app purchases.

2. YOU DO NOT OWN THE MURALS
The paintings, names, stories, official photographs, and the Wildlife Walls / Wildlife Walls Mural Trail marks belong to Wildlife Walls, the artists (including Chris Peterson and credited partners), property owners, and other rights holders—not to app users.
Visiting a wall, taking a snapshot for personal use, or saving a pin in the app does not give you ownership of the mural, the building, or our catalog text. Do not reproduce our official images or trail copy for commercial use without permission.

3. ACCOUNTS
Some features (comments, submissions, cloud favorites and trips, photo uploads, profile pages) use an account. Sign-up is email and password via Supabase Auth.
You must provide accurate information and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity on your account.
We may suspend or delete an account, hide content, or refuse a listing if we believe these terms were broken, if content is unlawful or harmful, or if we need to protect visitors, artists, or the project. You may delete your own account in the app: Profile → Account (•••) → Delete Account. See the Privacy Policy for what is removed versus what stays anonymized on the trail.

4. YOUR CONTENT (LICENSE TO US)
If you post or upload user content—including comments, feedback, issue reports, profile text and photos, artist claims, community mural photos, and submissions of murals, viewing spots, landmarks, institutions, volunteer stops, or businesses—you keep whatever rights you already have in that content.
You grant Wildlife Walls a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for formatting), display, and distribute that content in the app, on wildlifewalls.org, and in related trail materials, for as long as we operate the trail or until we remove it.
You promise that you have the right to grant this license (for example, you took the photo or have permission, and you are not impersonating an artist or business you do not represent).
MODERATION
Comments are hidden until a moderator approves them.
New mural and place submissions stay pending until approved. They are not official trail listings until then.
Business listings from a business profile are not public until approved.
Issue reports (vandalism, closure, wrong info, and similar) go live immediately so other visitors can see them.
Community photos added on a mural page can appear for others when you upload them.
We may refuse, edit, hide, or delete any user content at any time, including after it was approved. "Sent for review" does not guarantee publication.

5. VISIT THE TRAIL AT YOUR OWN RISK
Wildlife Walls is a guide to public art and nearby wildlife viewing. It is not a warranty that a site is open, safe, legally accessible, or accurately located.
Murals sit on private and public buildings, near streets, parking lots, and outdoor terrain. Wildlife viewing involves weather, wildlife, and land rules we do not control. Community-submitted pins and tips can be incomplete or wrong until we review them—and even official listings can go out of date.
You are responsible for:
Following traffic, parking, and property rules
Checking local conditions before you go
Your own safety and the safety of others with you
Use of the trail and the app is at your own risk. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Wildlife Walls, the Utah Wildlife Federation, artists, and volunteers are not liable for injury, property damage, trespass, or losses from visiting a stop or relying on map data.

6. ACCEPTABLE USE
Do not use the app to harass anyone, post illegal or sexually explicit material, spam, impersonate others, vandalize listings, or upload malware. Do not submit listings you know are false. Do not interfere with other users or with our systems.

7. MAPS, LOCATION, AND THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The map uses Apple Maps. Location is optional and When In Use only. Accounts, the catalog, and photos are hosted by Supabase as described in the Privacy Policy. Those services have their own terms. We are not responsible for outages or changes on Apple's or Supabase's side.

8. DISCLAIMER AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
THE APP AND TRAIL INFORMATION ARE PROVIDED "AS IS." We do not promise uninterrupted service or error-free listings.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY UTAH AND U.S. LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM THE APP OR FROM VISITING THE TRAIL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS (US $50). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS; IN THOSE PLACES, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED.

9. GOVERNING LAW
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree that courts located in Utah are the proper venue for disputes that cannot be resolved informally, except where Apple's App Store terms require a different process for the download itself.

10. CHANGES
We may update these terms by posting a new version at this URL and updating the date. Material changes apply going forward. If you do not agree, stop using the app and delete your account.
